Energizing Engineering Leadership

Engineers are at their core leaders. The Schulich School of Engineering is focusing its energies on promoting leadership among its students, with its research and within the profession itself.

Schulich vision for the next five years

On November 10, 2015, Dean Bill Rosehart unveiled the 2015-2020 Strategic Plan Energizing Engineering Leadership. The vision identifies three priority areas for the school:

  • Committed to student success
  • Fostering diversity
  • Research that makes a difference

The main goal of the strategic plan is to work together to establish a learning environment where creative thinking, innovation and teamwork thrive.

“Our focus is on ensuring every single student who begins our program has the support they need to succeed in their degree and their future career,” says Rosehart.

We are also striving for a faculty and staff compliment that reflects the rich diversity of the community around us. And we’re committed to research which helps address some of society’s biggest challenges — research that changes lives for the better.

“With this strategic plan, we are dedicating the Schulich School of Engineering to making a difference in the lives of our students, the engineering profession and the world. We encourage our alumni and our industry partners to join us as we transform engineering education in Calgary,” says Rosehart.
