I am an assistant professor in the department of Chemical and Petroleum engineering, at the University of Calgary, and my research is currently focused on experimental and computational thermodynamics of multi-component/multi-phase systems. The thermodynamics of multi-phase equilibrium permeates practically all aspects of Chemical & Petroleum engineering from polymer processing to oil upgrading to bio-reactor design. From an application perspective, I have several areas of interest; Gas Hydrates, electrolyte solutions, cryogenics, clean coal and biodiesel. Of these areas of application, the last one, biodiesel, also has great potential to lead to commercialisation opportunities. In addition to thermodynamics, I have also made contributions to understanding the kinetics of gas hydrate formation and decomposition

Soy profesor asistente en el Departamento de Ingeniería Química y Petróleos de la Universidad de Calgary. Mi investigación se centra principalmente en el área de termodinámica experimental y computacional de sistemas multicomponentes/multifásicos. Este campo básicamente toca todos los aspectos relacionados con la ingeniería química y de petróleos que van desde el procesamiento de polímeros y mejoramiento del crudo hasta el diseño de bio-reactores. Desde el punto de vista de aplicaciones tecnológicas, tengo varias áreas de interés: Hidratos de gas, soluciones electrolíticas, sistemas criogénicos, carbón limpio y biodiesel. Este último tiene también un gran potencial para su comercialización. Además del área de la termodinámica, he hecho contribuciones para la comprensión de la cinética de formación y descomposición de los hidratos de gas.

Ich bin wichtige Professur in Chemie Ingenieuerwesen, bei der Universität Calgary und mein Hauptforschungsgebiet ist rechenbetonte und experimentelle Thermodynamik. Die Thermodynamik des Phasengleichgewichtes fließt durch alle Chemie- und Öl- Ingenieurwesen. Die Anfrage der Thermodynamik, die mich interessiert sind Gas Hydrate (wie im Buch „Der Schwarm"), der Elektrolyt, saubere Kohle und Biodiesel. Biodiesel ist für Alberta, sehr interessant und es gibt dafür viele Gelegenheiten für spannende Forschung.
