Dr. Mehta has over 15 years of experience in oil and gas engineering with special emphasis on high-pressure and -temperature processes as well as environmental applications. He has authored or co-authored over 100 technical papers, reports and patents. The following are some of his current research interests:

Consulting, Training and International Activities:

Dr. Mehta has been a consultant to major Canadian as well as international energy companies in the area of Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) and safety. He has organized and delivered, in collaboration with Canadian oil and gas industry, a number of specialized international training and technology transfer programs in countries such as China, India, USA, Mexico, Venezuela, Romania, Albania, Hungary, Colombia, Ecuador, etc.

Professional and Community Activities:

Dr. Mehta is a member of the National Board of Directors of the Petroleum Society of CIM and the Chairman of the Publications Board, which includes the Journal of Canadian Petroleum technology (JCPT). He also serves as a member of the Editorial Review Board (ERB) of the JCPT. He is a member of the Industry Advisory Council for the University of Calgary Oil and Gas Engineering program. He is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE), Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA), The Combustion Institute and Canadian Heavy Oil Association (CHOA), and a registered professional engineer in the Province of Alberta.
