UNDERGRADUATE TEACHING LABORATORIES
Laboratory time complements lectures and tutorials to further students' understanding of the properties of materials, separation processes, transport phenomena, and heat and mass transfer unit operations. Oil and gas students acquire valuable knowledge of the properties and phase behaviour of hydrocarbon fluids, the fundamental characteristics of reservoir rocks, and the physics of fluid flow in porous media in their labs.
Engineering 201 Lab
In the Engineering 201 lab there are five laboratory sessions, which are held in Room C34B, located in the basement of Engineering C Block. The laboratory exercises are a mandatory part of the ENGG 201 course. Students are required to attend all five scheduled laboratory sessions and submit four complete laboratory reports.
The laboratory sessions are designed to:
The first experiment is called: Density of Solids, Liquids and Gases.
The purpose of the experiment is to determine the relative density of:
The second experiment is called: Isothermal Behaviour of a Pure Substance.
The purpose of the experiment is:
The third experiment is called: Vapour Pressure of Liquids.
The purpose of the experiment is:
The fourth experiment is called: Viscosity of Gases and Liquids.
The purpose of this experiment is:
