Oil and gas engineering involves the training of technologies specific to exploration, development and production of oil and gas in an economical and environmentally sustainable manner. Oil and gas engineers evaluate reservoirs using reservoir description and modeling techniques; oversee drilling operations; design integrated strategies for primary and imporved recovery schemes; and design hydrocarbon production and treatment facilities. APPLY TO A PROGRAM
Students enter first-year engineering at the Schulich School in a common program, and select their departmental program choice at the end of their first-year. To select a program, engineering students assign a rank to each of the eight possible program choices via the myUofC portal in April.
