University of Calgary Graduate Scholarships

These awards are available to students who are registered full-time in a thesis-based program. Some awards, including the prestigious Killam Predoctoral Scholarships, are distributed through the Open Scholarship Competition. This is an annual competition for a large number of internal awards. Students interested in the Open Scholarship Competition should contact their program of interest directly. Graduate bursaries are also available to students with a demonstrated financial need. Graduate Assistantship Program

Graduate Assistant (Teaching) recipients assist with the instructional responsibilities of the department. Graduate Assistantships (Non-Teaching) recipients assist with non-teaching responsibilities such as research. Graduate Assistantships (Trust) are funded from the research support accounts held in trust for university staff who select and recommend graduate students for these appointments. This type of support must be arranged between graduate students and their prospective supervisors. Learn more.
