Engineering Leadership Awards

ENGINEERING LEADERSHIP AWARDS
Each year the Schulich School of Engineering recognizes industry contributions to the school and the engineering field with the presentation of the Dean’s Award for Corporate Leadership and the Canadian Engineering Leader Award.

Respectively these awards acknowledge corporations in Canada that have shown significant leadership in supporting research and educational activities in the School and entrepreneurs / pioneers of progress in the engineering world for their outstanding achievements, determined leadership, generosity in sharing their experiences and role-model qualities.

Canadian Engineering Leader Award

This award recognizes entrepreneurs and pioneers of progress in the engineering world for their outstanding achievements, determined leadership, generosity in sharing their experiences and role-model qualities.

The CELA recipient will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized institution and hold a P.Eng. or equivalent designation. He or she will have achieved engineering excellence while exceeding expectations in the engineering community and will have demonstrated responsibility and accountability.

Winners

Dean's Award for Corporate Leadership 

This award is offered to corporations in Canada that have shown significant leadership in supporting research and educational activities in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. It is anticipated that there will be one and, at most, two winners in a given year. Corporations that have satisfied at least four of the following criteria are considered for the award:

  • EAP membership during the last three years
  • Chairmanship of a faculty advisory council
  • Placement of engineering internship students during the last three years
  • Scholarship or award provided to an undergraduate or postgraduate student
  • Significant financial support for a research project, research chair, or educational activity within the faculty
