Schulich School of Engineering Teaching Assistant Awards 2011

Congratulations to the following 42 Schulich School of Engineering teaching assistants for their demonstrated excellence and effectiveness over the past academic year.

Award recipients were nominated by instructors in their own department. Selection is based on criteria which may include: ability to communicate board and accurate knowledge of the subject matter, success at motivating and challenging students to reach their potential, enthusiasm for teaching, fairness and consistency in grading, providing valuable feedback on student work, availability for consultation, and ability to model for and inspire undergraduate students to learn.

The 2008 awards marked the launch of a school-wide program to recognize the commitment of TAs to the education of undergraduate students. The program is a result of Mr. Seymour Schulich's gift of $25-million to the University of Calgary in 2005. Mr. Schulich is passionate about investing in education and teaching excellence.
