University of Calgary students were well represented at Canada’s largest development conference this year. Engineers Without Borders (EWB) hosted its 10th Anniversary National Conference in Toronto January 13-15th with 22 current University of Calgary students and several alumni in attendance.
Of EWB’s 33 chapters across Canada the University of Calgary Chapter was recognized with the Most Ambitious Chapter of the Year Award for setting big goals and developing innovative and ambitious programs to meet them.
U of C students were also recognized individually for their contributions to the organization’s first ever Innovation Forum which brought together over 60 of the best and brightest ideas to be profiled with posters and in short 5-minute presentations.
Dena Ghoneim and Patrick Miller were recognized with the award for Best Presentation while Stephanie Coupal and Sarah Vooys brought home the award for the Most Persuasive Team in the poster presentation category.
