Building Strong Relationships with Industry Partners

Our industry partnerships and connections with engineering professionals guide the development of new curriculum and practices, and help identify research opportunities. We actively seek industry advice to shape our academic programs and activities based so that our graduates can hit the ground running. There are many ways for industry to get involved with us.

Advisory councils

The Schulich School of Engineering relies on the guidance of several advisory councils to evolve and shape our programs and activities. These councils provide valuable insight into industry needs and strengthen our relationships with the community and the engineering profession.

Schulich Industry Advisory Council

Comprised of leaders from the field of engineering, this advisory council influences programs designed to prepare graduates to take on the challenges of the future and solve problems that are still unknown. Council members draw on their diverse expertise to provide input and advice on direction and growth opportunities for our engineering school. The council also identifies research opportunities with industry and looks for ways to strengthen the links between our school and the professional engineering community.

Engineering Leadership Awards

Each year we present engineering leadership awards to recognize companies and individuals for their important contributions to the Schulich School of Engineering. We offer two awards: the Dean’s Award for Corporate Leadership and the Canadian Engineering Leader Award.

Canadian Engineering Leader Award

This award recognizes entrepreneurs and pioneers in the engineering community for their outstanding achievements, determined leadership and generosity in sharing their experiences and being role models. Download the nomination guidelines.
