SCHOLARSHIPS, FEES AND FINANCIAL AID
In 2005, Seymour Schulich donated $25 million to the University of Calgary, the largest donation ever received by the U of C. This gift established the Schulich School of Engineering (formerly the Faculty of Engineering) and 102 scholarships for engineering students.
The University of Calgary offers over $12 million in scholarships and bursaries to new students entering the U of C and to students continuing in their studies at U of C. Generous financial support from a wide range of donors enables the University to recognize outstanding students and their contribution to academic life on campus.

Program for Undergraduate Research Experience (PURE) Awards
PURE Awards website
While research opportunities are available through students' course
work, the university believes that qualified students should also have
the opportunity to experience research as an activity outside the
classroom. Especially important are opportunities which provide
extensive periods of time to focus on research projects of interest to
the student and which fit into existing research activities in the
University.
Undergraduate students planning to pursue graduate studies should have opportunities to learn how to write research proposals, seek research funding, undertake or participate in substantive projects, learn discipline-specific skills, and report research results.
PURE awards are meant to benefit students at any stage of their undergraduate program, and applications from students in the early stages of their program are strongly encouraged.

These awards are meant to stimulate your interest in research in the
natural sciences and engineering. They are also meant to encourage you
to undertake graduate studies and pursue a research career in these
fields.

Financial AidLoans and bursaries are available for both full and part-time studies at the post-secondary level. Some grants are available to special needs groups such as single parents, students with disabilities, students with dependents and part-time students with high financial need.
