Schulich Student Activities Fund

$685,000 IS AVAILABLE EACH YEAR TO SUPPORT LEARNING EXPERIENCES OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Fieldtrip Criteria

The Schulich Student Activities Fund will support up to 50 percent of the cost of field trips (or 75 percent for international travel) that enhance the engineering educational experience of undergraduate or graduate students in the Schulich School of Engineering. See the policy guidelines below to find out more and to see if your trip or activity is eligible.

Event Criteria

Any organized group of the Schulich School of Engineering that promotes professional development and learning among engineering students can apply for up to 50 percent funding (75 percent for international activities) to stage events that enhance the engineering educational experience of undergraduate or graduate students. Student groups must have a charter or constitution, mission statement and operating budget; the proposed event or activity can not be funded by, nor offset, the operating budget of the organization. Application Procedures

1. Read and review the 'How to Apply' PowerPoint - Schulich Activities Fund - What is it? How do I apply? This document is a walk-through of the application proccess from start to finish.

2. Read the policy guidelines. Schulich Activities Fund Policy Revised 2012 - This document describes the policy for administration, distribution and accounting of the funds donated by Mr. Seymour Schulich to be used for student field trips, clubs, teams and associations.

3. Complete the application form online. Schulich Student Activities Fund Online Application Form - Make sure that you submit the application form as it is a multi-stage process - you initiate an application, save it and then when it is complete, you submit it. The application is then locked and you print off a hard copy for submission.

Please be advised that if you wish to apply for any of the additional student project funding provided by APEGGA, Lafarge or Penn West, each application requires a seperate submission to each comapny. For examply: to apply for Lafarge funding a student team would need to select  them in the drop down menu in the Schulich Student Activities Fund Online Application Form, and submit the form. 

4. Submit a hard copy to the Undergraduate Studies Office, ENC 204. You must submit one hard copy of your application with all attachments (budget, schedule etc. as they apply) by end of business on the application deadline to the Undergraduate Studies Office, ENC 204, Attention: Dr. Lynne Cowe Falls. 

APEGGA Engineering Student Project Fund

An additional $10,000 is available to students through the APEGGA Engineering Student Project Fund. Applicants are asked to complete the Schulich Student Activities Fund Online Application Form, identifying APEGGA under the 'competition' drop down menu, and submit by October 15, 2012. Terms of Reference.

Note: This is a separate competition and student teams should submit a separate application to be considered eligible for this award. 

Lafarge Engineering Student Activity Fund

An additional $5,000 is available through the Lafarge Engineering Student Activity Fund. Applicants are asked to complete the Schulich Student Activities Fund Online Application Form, identifying Lafarge under the 'competition' drop down menu and submit by October 15, 2012. Terms of Reference.

Note: This is a separate competition and student teams should submit a separate application to be considered eligible for this award.

 

Penn West Energy Engineering Student Activity Fund

An additional $75,000 is available to students through the Penn West Energy Engineering Student Project Fund. Applicants are asked to complete the Schulich Student Activities Fund Online Application Form, identifying Penn West under the 'competition' drop down menu and submit by October 17, 2012. Terms of Reference.

Note: This is a separate competition and student teams should submit a separate application to be considered eligible for this award.

 

Roman Deans Student Activity Fund

The Roman Deans Student Activity Fund is a separate pool of funds within the Schulich Student Activity Fund, with specific terms of reference. The fund is dedicated to enhancing the student experience by enabling technical teams to maximize their potential through team building activities. The fund is valued at $500 per year. Deadline to apply: Schulich Student Activities Fund spring/summer activity deadline, May 16 for activities between September 1 and December 31.
