He has taught in different universities in China, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Canada. His teaching is mainly in the areas of manufacturing engineering and engineering management.
Dr. Yiliu (Paul) Tu is a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. He received his BE in 1982 and ME in 1985, both from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China. Dr. Tu holds a PhD from Aalborg University, Denmark and is a P.Eng. with APEGA. He is also a senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). Dr. Tu worked at HUST (China), Aalborg University (Denmark), City University of Hong Kong, and University of Canterbury (New Zealand) before he joined University of Calgary. He has been engaged in numerous funded R&D projects as principal investigator and co-investigator, including highly competitive research grants such as PGS&T grant from New Zealand and NSERC Strategic Partnerships grant from Canada.
