The Schulich School of Engineering is strategically positioned as a centre of engineering excellence to leverage our resources and ideas to solve great challenges. By supporting the Schulich School in student success, fostering diversity and research that makes a difference, you will help advance ideas that will improve lives locally and globally.

Student Success

Recruiting and retaining students and faculty with the brightest minds through:

  • Scholarships, bursaries and awards
  • Resources to attract talent in education and research
  • Dedicated support for programs that promote student success at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Enhanced co-curricular activities to improve student communication, teamwork and leadership skills.

Fostering Diversity

For this creative field to thrive, we need to cultivate an environment where people with a variety of backgrounds, genders, interests and talents feel welcome and included. We accomplish this through:

  • Community outreach
  • Programs that build a breadth of skills like leadership, entrepreneurship, teamwork, collaboration and strong communication
  • International experiences providing skills to go beyond engineering, developing their global perspective.

Research that Makes a Difference

Schulich’s more than 200 academics and research engineers are making a real and measurable impact on local and global communities. With your support we can fully realize the potential of our research activities by:

  • Strengthening our foundational and applied research and providing collaborative opportunities between the two areas
  • Working in dynamic and productive teams comprised of faculty, staff, students, industry and community members
  • Transforming engineering research in key areas such as energy and environment, biomedical, new earth-space technologies, manufacturing systems, transportation and structures.

Energizing Engineering Leadership

The role of an engineer is to find novel solutions to pressing technical challenges and to improve quality of life both locally and globally. The Schulich School of Engineering is committed to making a difference in the education of our undergraduate and post-graduate students, in the diversity of our profession, and through the impact of our research.

Over the next five years, our leadership will maintain focus on supporting student success through their studies, their research and into their future careers. Our vision will be demonstrated through our commitment to increased diversity within our school and profession by fostering an inclusive environment, and it will showcase our abilities through research that solves the real challenges facing our world.

By energizing engineering leadership, we at the Schulich School of Engineering are bringing together the wealth of skills and talents that abound across our school, our university and our community to make a difference.
