Research Activities:

Continuum Mechanics, Applied Mechanics, Bioengineering

Dr. Epstein's main research work deals with foundational aspects of modern Continuum Mechanics and its applications to biological systems.

Current research activities

  • Theoretical and applied aspects of continuous distributions of dislocations. This project is carried out in conjunction with the French CNRS and the Spanish CSIC.
  • Mechanics and Energetics of Skeletal Muscle. This project is a joint effort with Dr. Herzog of the Human Performance Laboratory at the Faculty of Kinesiology.
