News and Notices for Current and Prospective Graduate Students

PLEASE NOTE - PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS FOR THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIZATION

The Department of Civil Engineering is temporarily suspending applications for admission to the PhD, MSc and MEng thesis-based programs for the Project Management Specialization. Prospective students who have submitted applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis after review. A limited number of MEng course-based applications will be accepted. Admission to the MEng course-based program is highly competitive and only the most qualified applicants, meeting department requirements, will be considered. Students currently enrolled in any degree program WILL NOT BE PERMITTED to transfer to a higher degree program. Students admitted to any other specialization within the Department of Civil Engineering WILL NOT BE PERMITTED to transfer to the Project Management Specialization.


Upcoming Admission Application Deadlines

Winter 2013 (start) September 1 for Canadian residents; August 1 for international students.


The Department of Civil Engineering will not be accepting any MEng applications for the May 2012 intake.  Students who wish to be considered are encouraged to apply for the September 2012 session when it becomes available in early 2012.


Graduate Opportunity: Ice Mechanics and Arctic Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering is looking for graduate students to work in the areas of ice mechanics and arctic engineering.  Preference will be given to students who are qualified to initiate a PhD program and have some prior knowledge of ice mechanics and/or arctic engineering.

DEGREE PROGRAMS
The Department of Civil Engineering provides excellent opportunities for research and full-time study leading to MSc and PhD degrees. The Master of Engineering (MEng) degree is also offered on a part-time or full-time basis and can be obtained through either the course-only route or the thesis route.
