Resources for transfer students

Are there resources available to help me deal with the transition to the University of Calgary?

The University of Calgary, the Schulich School of Engineering and various student clubs on campus have programs to support your transition from another post-secondary institution.

Orientation week is the week before lectures begin in September. During orientation, all frosh (first-year) and transfer students are introduced to the university and all the resources and services that will assist them throughout their academic career. Engineering orientation is part of this. You learn how to survive engineering and have fun doing it. For more information, please visit the orientation page.

The Devon Academic Resource Centre (DARC) provides one-on-one academic assistance to engineering students. The centre is staffed by an advisor and tutors to answer questions from engineering undergraduate students primarily in first and second year engineering courses, but students of any year are welcome. For information, visit the DARC page.

Two student clubs, the Engineering Students Society ( ESS) and Women in Science and Engineering ( WISE) provide a number of exam preparation resources, such as previous exam booklets and mid-term and final exam tutorials.
