Many faculty members, students, and postdocs from across campus are engaged with the interdisciplinary Department of Biomedical Engineering. Engineering Solutions for Health
In March 2015, the University of Calgary launched its biomedical engineering research strategy – Engineering Solutions for Health. This interdisciplinary research area involves engineering, medicine, kinesiology, veterinary medicine, science and nursing – all working together to address complex, global health-care research challenges. It identified four research themes:
- Integrated approaches to enable prevention of injury and disease, and support healthy aging
- Technologies for improved diagnostics
- Engineered novel therapeutics
- Optimized healthcare system performance
