Leading Innovators and Strong Research

With an annual average of 25 internationally recognized research chairs, more than 160 faculty members and 1,200 graduate students, the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary is a powerhouse of research and innovation.

From leading the world in advances in petroleum engineering, to biomedical breakthroughs, pioneering communication from space and improving how we live together and care for our environment here on Earth, Schulich researchers are at the forefront of positive change.

Every year, the tens of millions of dollars in funding we receive from a wide variety of sources, along with our partnerships with industry, ensure that Schulich will continue creating important new knowledge — helping the University of Calgary meet its Eyes High goal to be among the top five research universities in Canada and working to improve society as a whole.
