Accessing RITS
Research Instrumentation and Technical Support Laboratory
Getting Started
Researchers can be trained to use RITS instruments themselves or have sample analysis carried out by lab staff. Read below for more information on accessing RITS and associated fees.
-
For University of Calgary affiliates
What: Access to RITS Laboratory instruments and analytical services for University of Calgary researchers:
- Users can receive training and independently access most instruments
- Samples may be submitted to the lab to be analyzed by RITS staff
Cost: Fees are charged based on instrument usage.
How:
- The lab supervisor/PI fills out, signs and submits the Annual Authorization Form to cpe.rits@ucalgary.ca to authorize researchers in their group to access RITS instruments and services. Those members who will be directly using RITS should have their names listed on the form.
- Users from an authorized research group can then reach out to RITS staff at cpe.rits@ucalgary.ca to arrange training or submit samples for analysis.
-
For outside universities, businesses, and not-for-profits
What: Analysis performed by RITS staff for parties external to the University of Calgary.
How: Contact cpe.rits@ucalgary.ca to discuss your analysis needs. RITS staff are happy to consult on technique and measurement parameters if you are unsure what the best approach is for your research question.
