New XRF Microscope Installed
RITS has installed a new HORIBA XGT‑9000 micro XRF system in CCIT 062. This instrument enables high‑resolution elemental mapping with minimal sample preparation and is well suited for analysis of heterogeneous materials, coatings, and particulates. The system is now available for trained users and for staff‑performed analysis. Interested users are encouraged to contact RITS staff to discuss suitability for their applications.
February 2026
Raman Spectroscopy Workshop
RITS hosted a hands‑on Raman spectroscopy workshop focused on core principles, sample preparation, and practical data interpretation. The session provided participants with an overview of Raman fundamentals alongside guided instrument time. The workshop was designed for new and prospective users looking to better understand the technique and its applications across materials characterization and chemical analysis.
March 2026
Scheduled Maintenance: ICP OES
The Thermo Scientific iCAP 7200 ICP‑OES will be temporarily offline for routine maintenance in March. The expected downtime is approximately two days. Users with planned analyses are encouraged to adjust bookings accordingly. If maintenance timing impacts an ongoing project, please contact RITS staff to discuss scheduling options or alternative arrangements.
