Megan Leslie

BSc (Eng)'15, BComm'19

Megan Leslie holds two bachelors' degrees from the University of Calgary, one in Mechanical Engineering and the other in Finance. Today, she is a co-founder and the CEO of a material science startup, NanoTess, which is combating some of the toughest health challenges through nanotechnology innovation. During her time at NanoTess, Megan has led the company through an oversubscribed pre-seed financing round, completed a successful project with the Canadian Department of National Defense, and graduated from the Creative Destruction Labs Rockies program.

Prior to NanoTess, Megan had the opportunity to work in a variety of industries and in various business functions including experiences like working as a workforce transformation management consultant with Deloitte, risk consultant at KPMG, oil and gas field engineer with Schlumberger, nuclear engineer with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, gas turbine blade design at Alstom (Switzerland), and project management intern at Equinox Engineering. Even though her career has not been linear, in each of these opportunities Megan remained focused on fostering innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. It is the experience she gained and her passion for entrepreneurship that has brought her to where she is today and that will continue to support her for whatever her future holds.
