Schulich students can be hired in three unique ways

Located in Canada’s engineering capital, the Schulich School of Engineering is where bold ideas come to life. With hands-on learning, cutting-edge Makerspaces, and paid work-integrated learning opportunities, we prepare our engineering graduates to be the changemakers of tomorrow. We are pleased to offer all of our students the chance to gain a minimum of 500 hours (3-4 months on average) of valuable paid work experience and boost their career prospects.

Engineering Career Practicum

In your first or second year of engineering, you can begin building your career readiness through online learning and paid short term work experiences.

Student internship

Engineering Internship Program

Gain work experience while you learn with 12 to 16 months of paid, real-world, work experience after you have completed your third year.

MME graduate students

MEng Internship Program

The Schulich School of Engineering is pleased to introduce a paid internship program for Master of Engineering (MEng) students, the first of its kind in Alberta.

Undergraduate internship statistics

As of October 2023, 641 third year students were approved into the internship program.

As of October 2023, 550 students are on internship between May 2023 and Aug 2024.

In Spring 2023, 76% of students graduated with the internship designation on their transcript.
