Glenn enjoyed a career working primarily in the engineering, procurement and construction industry (EPC) but finished his engineering career working for CNOOC Nexen. Most of Glenn’s years as an engineer were spent in Calgary, with stints working in South Carolina, Houston and Venezuela. During the 2006-2007 scholastic year, five employees from the College of Engineering at Boise State University started an educational program increase undertaking utilizing new instructional advances with the goal to help improve undergrad building students' subjective and full of feeling readiness for their study hall learning. They recently moved to Yokohama, where they are teaching English at a private junior/senior high school.

What is your favourite memory from your time at U Calgary?
My favourite memories from university are playing intramural hockey with the Mechanical Superstars and all of the parties organized by the ESS and MESS. Queen Week...was an incredible event. An important part of the Queen Week activities were the plays that were performed... .
What was your favourite campus hang-out spot?
My favourite place to hang out was the ESS office... .
What advice would you give your student self, knowing what you do now?
My advice to students today is, "Get involved in the social aspects of school. Join a team or a club. Those extra-curricular activities take the sting out of those long hours of studying."
How did your engineering degree help you get to where you are today?
My engineering degree made it possible to pursue work outside of Canada. Getting through school also taught me perseverance, which served me well in the roller-coaster resource economy.
How has your career path evolved and changed since your graduation?
At the beginning of my career, I was focused on the technical aspects of engineering. Over time, I was involved more in the execution planning of projects. What I learned to appreciate in my career is that the people you work with are more important than the projects you work on. As engineers, we aren’t just executing projects. We are providing a living for people so that they can enjoy a meaningful life with their families and friends.
