Engineers are designers, builders and makers. We have a new space to help you bring your ideas to life.
The Maker Multiplex was launched in 2018 to help grow the maker community on campus by expanding access to tools and training. It’s all about enhancing your learning, helping you build key technical skills and inspiring creativity in the engineering design process.
Located in a series of rooms throughout Canadian Natural Resources Limited Engineering Complex, this makerspace is open to all UCalgary students, faculty and staff.
3D Printing – The makerspace outfitted with 40 state of the art Prusa 3D printers. These devices are user friendly for anyone new to 3D printing, but also have the capability to complete the most advanced projects.
We also have available:
- soldering irons
- electronics equipment
- robotics materials
- and more!

Short sessions designed to spark your interest. They are also a great way to get up to speed on safety requirements.
90 to 120 minute introductory workshops where you can learn a skill and complete a small project.
Pursue longer projects on your own, with access to support from design coaches during drop-in hours.
