Biography

Dr. Mahdis Bisheban is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering since July 2021. Previously, she served as a Research Associate at the Aerospace Research Center, National Research Council Canada (NRC), and as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Queen’s University.

As a researcher in engineering, she is developing new theories to advance the science and their applications to address industry problems. Her current research focuses on two pillars: (i) Control, Estimation and Modelling of Aerial and Underwater Vehicles and (ii) Application of Machine Learning on Control and Modelling of Dynamical Systems.

Control and Modelling of Dynamical Systems, including Aircraft, Unmanned Aerial and Underwater Vehicles

System identification, modelling, estimation, and control using diverse methods including traditional, data-driven (machine learning), and geometric methods on manifolds.
