Student Work Placement Program
Run by the Government of Canada, in partnership with a variety of discipline-specific organizations, the Student Work Placement Program provides wage subsidies to employers that offer quality student work placements.
How much could you get?
- Up to $5,000 for every student you hire through the program
- Up to $7,000 for every student you hire that is in their first year (Engineering Career Practicum)
- Up to $7,000 for every student you hire that is from an under-represented group including:
- Women in STEM
- Persons with disabilities
- Newcomers
- Indigenous students
- Visible minorities
Organizations to help you access Student Work Placement Program funding
Supporting employers in the electricity generation, transmission and distribution space, and supporting services.
Eligible employers are hiring students for meaningful environmental jobs in science, technology, engineering, arts or mathematics, or business.
For employers providing work-integrated learning opportunities for students with digital or technology components.
