Professor Participates in CBSA Engagement Session

Professor Maureen Duffy has been invited by the Canadian Border Services Agency to participate in the Stakeholder Engagement Session for the National Immigration Detention Framework.

The Canadian Border Services Agency has invited Professor Maureen Duffy to participate in its October 25th Stakeholder Engagement Session for the National Immigration Detention Framework.  This Framework was designed to overhaul the immigration-detention system and is supported by substantial funding to try to improve detention infrastructure, to try to implement more alternatives to detention, and to reduce the number of minors in detention. As part of its implementation plan, the CBSA seeks to engage communities of interest regarding these issues.
